For a project at work I had to create a true colour PNG from scratch using GD, copy a load of image files to it from various locations and then display it on-screen.
This code allows you to create a vertically-scrolling text box of information – such as a news ticker – to your website quickly and easily. It does not use an IFRAME so the scrolling content is actually part of your document, making it more Search Engine friendly and easier do produce by simply populating it with content from your database. This makes it XHTML Strict as well.
After much hassle with the server move and general domain crappiness, I took an hour out today to see if I could remember how to do the old wildcard domain trick that I employed to offer the free subdomain / free url redirection site, all those moons ago. I really should have saved the info, because it would have saved me several server restarts, amongst other things.
