Live Help Server
20:52.12 - Friday 8th September 2006 (Link to This Entry)
Dibzva and myself have been mucking about with the Live Help thing I mentioned yesterday and apart from a small refreshing issue (My page won't update properly, but his does) it seems to be working just fine.
I can monitor the list of people wanting to chat as well as boot them off and wotnot. Turning the service off prevents people chatting as well, so it's all good. One idea I did have was to ask for an email address as part of the login so they could ask for the whole chat log to be emailed to them afterwards - could be useful.
Another idea - have it play a sample if there are people in the waiting room. This'll provide an audible clue as well as a visual one, so if you're working on something else, it'll keep on at you until you chat with them.
The whole LiveHelp thing is sill as ugly as only Times New Roman can be so I need to do a whole lotta tidying up, slapping some CSS in there and basically making it look pretty.
