TFT Monitor Burn-in Panic

In preparation for a game of BZFlag I set up the server on my machine and went off to get a cup of tea. Somewhere along the line it crashed, and the result was the game-start phrase, "Press Right Mouse or 'I' to Enter" flickering on and off at roughly 60fps. I've no idea why, but it necessitated a restart.

I got back into Windows and found the phrase burned into my screens. For an awful moment I honestly thought I'd trashed £1000-worth of monitors.

I did some reading, and it transpired that this can occur occasionally. All that is required is that you power down the monitor for an hour and it's all well again. This is different from the burn-in caused by a static image on a screen for a long time which could mean going without your computer for anything up to 48 hours.
