eBay Spoof Phisher Thwarted

Sometimes I wonder what the world is coming to, especially when we're talking about people and the Internet. It seems that every time I create a service site to help someone for free, I get some asshat wannabe hacker taking the mick. As some of you folks will know, I recently set up a free url redirectioin/subdomain registration thing at d04.net so a few chums could create nice little links to their websites. I opened it up for use by the general public and all was swell. Until the spammer arrived.

Mr. Porn Spammer decided he was going to register over a hundred porn subdomains, each one more peculiar than the last, and all pointing to gateway pages, presumeably to take advantage of my free crosslink advertsing. Eventually I decided I'd had enough and cut the maximum number of domains on an account down to 25. He retaliated by opening another account, and I fired back by deleting all adult links completely - HAH!

I have some guy promoting Crazy Frog (et al) ringtones. I don't know what number he's up to on the domain count but he's been a good lad so far - that's fair enough.

But now I've got the Phishers sniffing around the site. Some chump registered ebay, ebey, ebayverify and ebeyverify as d04.net subdomains and set up a fake ebay website - a laughably poor one as it happens but what the heck. I responded by transferring all of his domains to my account and repointing them, then sending his email address, plus the address of the fake site, off to eBay - HAH! Never piss off the webmaster!

I just knew forcing users to verify their address would be a smart idea!
ukswingpa@myjazzmail.com you are the weakest link.

Coming Soon. Maybe.
