Manchester United fans go Apeshit over Glazer

It seems that all everybody can talk about today is the fact that some American guy is buying up shares in Manchester Bloody United. People are up in arms, threatening to boycott all merchandise and even food sold on the premises, all because Malcolm Glazer has ponied up the best part of £800m and is buying the shares as if they're going out of style.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you have only the club to blame for this - it was they, after all, who decided to fill their pockets with cash by going public, selling the club on the Stock Exchange. Believe it or not, this is what businesses do, all over the world, every day. Manchester United is a brand name like any other. Have you forgotten how they fleece you for a new strip every year? Oh my gosh - they're out to make a profit!

Rabid supporters of the club are adamant that ticket prices will go through the roof once Glazer is in full control, as if any businessman saddled with his gajillions of debt would be so stupid. Perhaps he's buying it in order to run it into the ground, so that one of the rival teams stands a chance of winning! Yes, that must be it!
