A moment of peace...

12:43.00 - Monday 3rd January 2005   (Link to This Entry)

It's the calm before the storm, I just know it. BB and I have spent long, long hours putting this program and website together and we're finally on the last part - putting in those last minutes tweaks and testing for bugs. I'm taking a moment out to do this before I add the lines of php that will add VAT to UK Wholesale orders, and BB is... well he's probably recovering and dreaming about the new 42in plasma TV he wants.

It's been two weeks of very long days that were shot with colds and flu. Christmas was in there somewhere and I had a couple of trips to Manchester to get through as well, but in the end I think we did what we set out to do. I'm still amazed that it all went so well and so quickly - and so is the customer, who has praised us at every opportunity after being let down by two other companies.

I spent the early hours of this morning printing out installational manuals and DVD cover inserts for this stricylt limited-edition run of.. oooh.. a dozen copies. It's slightly tacky, but it's done now, and it's only because the Post Office is closed today that I haven't taken them off to be delivered already. First thing tomorrow morning they're going in the post.

In other work-related news, eBuyer fully refunded me for the MagicStor 2.2GB Compact Flash harddrive that I'd been using in my camera despite it being past their 30-day cutoff for refunds. Probably something to do with the fact that I know what the Sale of Goods Act has to say on the matter, and didn't mind letting them know this. The refund will go towards a paid of 1GB CF cards - I just haven't decided on Kingston or Lexar yet.

I really ought to get that camera review finished and online - something I can do more fully now that I've had a couple of months experience with both the camera and that bloody drive. I think most of the review is done bar the pictures, so we'll see about getting it on here before too long.
