Spyware Removal

After M's little slip the other day I decided to give both machines on the network a good going over with a few of the freely-available cleanup tools available. As well as Norton Antivirus running in the background with the latest updates installed, I've also scanned both machines with the following: Again, all three programs were updated where relevent so that they had the latest definitions. On my machine there were plenty of cookies and ad files scattered about the place. It's amazing how much crud you can pick up through simply surfing the Internet these days!
M's machine had the remnants of 'My Web Search' on the harddrive but much worse was an installation of the bastardised UCmore search program. I shall have to punish her later...
eBay PS2 Scamming...
19:11.17 - Wednesday 15th December 2004 (Link to This Entry)
There's another nasty little trick going down on eBay right now - a user called 22jj44 is pushing up loads of PS2 prices with stupidly high bids.
Presumably it's a dud account created with the sole purpose of limiting the number of affordable units on eBay, and that the person behind the 22jj44 identity actually has some PS2s of their own to sell which will now look cheap by comparison.
