I thought I'd drilled it into M's head - never ever install anything from the Internet without my say-so, don't click on attachments from people you don't know, scan stuff with Norton before doing anything and so on and so forth. To date we've never had a virus (touch wood!).

But today I happened to be working and I glanced across to M's screen. I noticed something extremely odd with Internet Explorer (yeah, I know). I asked her what crapware she'd installed. "Nothing" she says. I point out the new widgets that have appeared on her Internet Explorer window and she says "Oh, it was this..."

SMILEY CENTRAL and MY WEB SEARCH! AARGH!

I guess I can't really blame her, because she's getting a bit daft in her old age and she can still be distracted by shiny things. Bless.
