In-Flight Security

12:28.26 - Sunday 17th October 2004   (Link to This Entry)

While on our flight to Turkey last week, we were given an in-flight meal consisting of a chicken salad and a tasty, if slightly dry, bit of sponge cake. Drinks were on offer for free if you went for water or maybe fruit juice, but you could pony up a bit of cash and go for beer or white wine if you wanted to.

The beer, of course, came in a metal can. The white wine came in a glass bottle. I recall the days in my youth when I could rip a can into two razor-sharp pieces in about, oooh, five seconds flat, and anybody can break a glass bottle if you've got two of them.

Security? We've heard of it!

It's true I tells ye! Mind you, the brekkie on the way back was the same two cheeses we'd had all week in the hotel... bah.

Easing back in...

13:41.58 - Sunday 17th October 2004   (Link to This Entry)

I've spent my Sunday mucking around with a bit of PHP, fixing a few typos on the site and so on, just easing my way back into the scripting, work-ish side of things. I started by added tweaking an existing feature.

You can now leave a comment on any entry on the website instead of just the last one. I may change this in time, for example by limiting it to the last few entries, but we'll see. I had to make the commenting script email me a link to make it easier for me to find exactly which entry had been commented on, but that's about it. There were a couple of management tweaks I wanted to put in as well.

I still feel very tired and we've been sleeping in ever since we got back. Hopefully I can shake this off by the time tomorrow rolls around, because I've got more work lined up and really need to get back into the routine of actually doing it.

Sagem MYX-7 & Micro HiFi

13:50.50 - Sunday 17th October 2004   (Link to This Entry)

I can't tell if this is legit or a mistake on the Woolworths website, but long-time contact Lyndon gave me a link to a Sagem MYX-7 that comes with a free Micro HiFI CD System for... £34. Delivered.

I'll let you know if his turns up. Meanwhile, here's the link.

Edit: They've pulled it - apparently it appeared for £100 in a printed brochure, not £100 off. Just as I was about to order one as well! Buggrit.
