Website Promotion going well...

I've been promoting a very-badly-designed legal website for a couple of months - badly designed because there's really very little content that could be used by a search engine, and so I've had to make up for this by keyword stuffing and - ahem - Google spamming. The firm was very impressed with how their name had leapt up the rankings in all major search engines, but we hadn't quantified anything until this morning.

On average the site received roughly 70 visitors a month before my promotion started. Most of these were visitors via WHOIS.SC (don't ask me, I don't know either) and - obviously - not much of this was translated into business. Checking this morning I saw 311 visitors for August and 315 so far for September - an increase of 300%.

The site is still crap, but certainly more people are seeing it, and the main referrer is no longer WHOIC.SC but Google searches, which means people are finding the site based on what the firm actually does. I still need to convince them to get the website redone, and they will probably come to me for that, but they're getting results, and that means cash in the bank for me.
