Feeling my Age...

Oh hell. I just realised that I'm going to be 34 in a week's time. When did that happen?

Over the weekend I needed a good long sleep after several nights of playing Dungeon Siege started to catch up with me. Sunday was the worst as a came down with a huge headache and had to go to bed in the middle of the afternoon. Obviously I can't leep it up (fnaar!) like I used to.

As Monday mornings go, today was actually pretty good. I had a lie in until about 9am and my first port of call was the Bank/Post Office run to pay in some eBay cash and to get some packages posted. Getting started in a morning seems a bit easier now that I've stopped drinking coffee at least.

Working in Windy Weather

Later this afternoon I moved into the conservatory to get some work done, since the sound of the wind around the roof and the sunlight coming through the window was conspiring to destract me as much as possible. At least here I am reasonably sheltered from both.

One thing that immediately became apparent was that the WiFi wasn't reaching my laptop as well as it could be, with only two of the four bars on the signal indicator showing. This is most likely due to the angle of the house walls between the router and the laptop, since moving to the end of the garden will improve the signal no end despite being further away.

The poorer signal means that the site I am working is quite slow to respond, because although the files are being editted locally, I am using the MySQL database on the webserver, and so I require a constant connection to the Internet. This does make for a relaxed work session, however, so I'm not too bothered.

Whoops!

I've just noticed that the timestamp on the last few entries was always nine minutes past the hour. My mistake - who would have though 'm' was the value for Months and 'i' was the value for Minutes, eh? Drat.
