I'm converting the bl0g site to PHP. Gonna add a few more features in since it's so much easier to develop in PHP than ASP (for me at least).

I've converted all of the entried from the blog into a MySQL database with the exception of tonight's. I will copy these last few entries over manually since it's a lot of fannying about to do using the script - I have to switch to IIS and dump out the records using an ASP script, then fire up Apache and insert them into the MySQL table using a PHP script. After several runs, they're all converted and copied across, and I've kocked up an interim page just to allow me to see what they look like on-screen. I've returned to a simpler layout that has no graphical elements as yet. I also came up with a much more elegant way of handling the requested date, which has made things simpler. The next stage is to get the 'Prev' and 'Next' buttons in there so that I can browse through the entries.

That's it for tonight - I've yet to add the comments or counter routines, but that can wait until the morning. I've re-written the blog from scratch and it works like a champ, but I'm a little bit too tired to be fecking about for too long tonight. Hey, my copy of Dungeon Siege might be here tomorrow... doesn't that sound familiar?
