Insert Stupid Title Here

Spend the morning and part of the afternoon writing up a report/quote for a Hotel, I've done a bit of investigating into BT Openzone hotspots and I think it may be a good idea for them to get one and share their broadband connection. The 'Hotspot-in-a-Box' costs £250+vat and by all accounts is fairly straightforward to set up, but one thing at a time, eh?

I'm really quoting for a redesign of their site so that they can do the updates themselves rather than pay another company £££'s to do it. This will mean integrating the visitor statistics, availability and reservation functions into an Administration Area and - probably - need another manual doing. I'm also going to recommend WiFi and a Broadband Router, rather than changing their ADSL package to a multi-user option.

The employment agency site I've been doing for the past few weeks is 99% complete, and we're just waiting for the vacancies to be entered before it goes live. Although I don't particularly like the design that the company chose (we gave them two - they picked the worst one), it is a pretty good site, being searchable and all that. Should get some money for that as well.

K is going to try installing his old WinTV card and have a play with Windows Media Encoder tonight, primarily so that he can stream BBC1 and watch it at work, where they have no TV. Not sure what the legality of that is, but I'll join in watching with him as I have no TV up here, either. Must get those Freeview antennas sorted out, then I can bring the old digibox in here and get M a Pace Twin for the living room. And no, the babes in that link are not included, sorry.

More DVD fun going on - I am currently backing up my work folder (over 3GB now, sheesh!) over the LAN and writing it out at 2x using the writer in the desktop. Since the drive was patched I've been able to write without worrying about how long it's going to take me, which is nice. I'll try a 4x write (over the LAN, too) when I get some 4x discs.

And tonight I'll be watching Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, so don't call me.

Kinda. The employment site is now live - I'm hurriedly scanning through it all to see if there's anything we've missed :) SO FAR, everything seems to work just fine.
