Received my Lord of the Rings Trilogy Box Set this morning from Play.com in Jersey. There were two marks on the outer cardboard box, which is a bit of a pig, but the discs within were just fine. Nice speedy turnaround as well boys - I wasn't expecting it until Tuesday.

Hayfever Remedy

Summer has officially arrived as far as I'm concerned, with my hayfever starting up this morning in the form of an itchy nose and the occasional sneeze. This is a far cry from my pill-popping days however, and so I'll put up with it. Even M - normally quite resilient to flowers and suchlike - is snuffling this morning.

In previous years, I would start snuffling and pop a Piriton tablet or something similar. This would go on all summer, and it was only a year or so ago that I realised I hadn't had a tablet for ages, and I was fine. This lead me to speculate that it was the tablets causing my problems, and I decided the following year (last year, now) that I would try going without, just to see what happened, really.

Suprisingly, I was fine. It took a couple of weeks for me to stop sneezing, but after that there was nary a sniffle. It appears that my body would react too strongly to the anti-histamines I was taking, and produce even more histamines, requiring more powerful medication to control. Kind of like an arms race, but with bogies.
