Dell Axim X30

The Dell Axim X30 has finally made it onto the Dell UK Website and is selling for the really-quite-attractive price of £269 (inc VAT, no delivery) for the top of the range model basic package. I am tempted to grab myself one of these babies because, quite frankly, there's nothing to compare it to for the moment.

Aside from not having to lug the laptop around with me in order to do stuff online, a friend of mine develops games for the Pocked PC. Neat.

Typically, though, Dell are ripping off the UK Market as usual. The same 624Mhz/Bluetooth/WiFi unit is only £195 ($349) in the US. The Aussies don't get such a hot deal either - they pay £195 (A$499) for the 312Mhz version. Why the hell is everyone outside the US paying so much? Perhaps in our case it's because we actually use Bluetooth whereas it hasn't really taken off in the US, but that's a pretty lame excuse for a 37% price hike.

There was an article in The Inquirer about Dell ripping off the UK. Dell basically said the reason was/is "because we can". Hmm.
Rip-Off Country
Oh and like THAT's a valid reason huh? Shamefully, I will probably cough up anyway. Sigh..
