Speedy .CO.UK Domain

Seems the .UK register process has speeded up a wee bit over the last year. At around 7pm last night I registered a .co.uk domain name for a friend - filled in the blanks, gave my card details etc, then went over later to set up her email (using the IP to access the server).

This morning I typed in the URL on a whim and.. it works! 14 hours after paying, the domain is running and NTL have updated their DNS, meaning I can access it already. This has to be some kind of record.

Careful, NTL - I might have to take back some of the things I said about you :)

WTF Happened to BT Webmail?

OMFG! I've seen some bad site designs in my time, but the latest abomination that is BT/Yahoo! just takes the cake. For starters, http://mail.btinternet.com no longer works. Signing into the horrible Yahoo!-daubed page brings me to a 'Confirm Your Details' page which won't actually accept anything I enter, not even the values it put in there itself.

And you can't access your webmail until you've confirmed your details, which means I can't access the webmail. Argh! This has got to be one of the most f*cked up websites I have ever come across, and I've even been to Daniel's site.

Another Website Manual

I have almost finished the Employment Agency website that I've been working on for a while now. I spent this morning and this afternoon in Photoshop editing the images that Creatas finally sent over (after they'd sent them to the .co.uk email address of which mine was .net - d'oh) as well as some taken by 'Some Guy In The Office', getting rid of backgrounds and trying to do something remotely interesting with them.

Now I'm tucked away in a quiet corner of the house writing the manual for it. In truth these manuals are only for the Admin Area of the sites, and probably quite necessary because they are getting quite complexed. This is the first multi-account admin area I've done and as such the manual is a little more involved.

All good fun, though I confess I thought my doc-writing days finished the day I sold my Amiga 1200 and stopped messing about with Blitz Basic.
