Look at the pic over there - what's the first word that pops into your head to describe the subject? Some will say 'Bird', a few more will say 'Crow' and maybe a few will mis-identify it as a Raven or similar. My initial thought was 'Corvid'. I have no explanation for this - I must have read it somewhere and filed it away for future use. Corvids are a large family of birds including Crows, Rooks, Ravens, Magpies and Jays. So now you know.

Mr. Foo has had a lot to answer for over the past few years, not least that damed music on the Giddy games, but his debt to society has been repaid to some extent by the release of 'Treknobabble' - the Wesley Crusher-based Trek Plot Fix Engine! Verily the Heisenberg Compensator of it's time!
No offence to uber geek Wil Wheaton intended :-)
Must be Wil Wheaton day...

OK I admit it, we just can't help liking Wil Wheaton because he's just a complete and utter geek first, ex-Star Trek actor second. Reading his site gives the impression that he'd much rather forget about some of the Trek conventions he goes to and talk about Linux instead. And why not?I recall watching that seminal rite-of-passage movie Stand By Me years ago, thinking at the time that it wasn't actually that bad, and that it followed the book quite well (and, years later, that the part of Ace Merril had to be written for Kiefer Sutherland). Truly it was one of the Best. Movies. Ever. I never really got into the cheese-fest that was Star Trek TNG though. Ugh.
And now he's finding his feet as an author. Dancing Barefoot. is doing well and Just a Geek is in the pipeline, plus he's just signed to O'reilly - hence the joke pic. Congrats on the book deal, Mr. Wheaton, sir!
