More on Spam

Moron Spam? Oh yes. I got my very first 'Microsoft Security Update' virus email this morning and it's the only one, too. Of course it was defanged by Norton, but I'm starting to feel a little less left out now. Up until recently I hadn't even seen a Viagra spam email, dammit!

I also got an email from 'Window Flower' about the loveliness of Paper Folding. It was sent to an auto-dated email address from my work site - jobs030831@mydomain.com - which makes it easy to block all email to that address at the server end. BootBlock was so impressed by the idea he's going to implement it himself. Huzzah for Anti-Spammage!

Lotsa Lotto

12:53.51 - Tuesday 23rd September 2003   (Link to This Entry)

People are still flooding into the Lotto site today - so far I've had 76 visitors since midnight and that's while the majority of people are at work. Come 6pm I imagine there's gonna be a quick bump in the visitor numbers.

The new Daily Play means I'm going to have consistently more visitors to the site now, although I hope the majority of them will opt to receive their results by email as it'll save me bandwidth. The problem as I see it, though, is the fact that matching zero numbers gets you a Lucky Dip ticket, so it's not possible in those circumstances to keep the same numbers, hence people will be coming back to the site a lot.

I'm gonna have to get some popunder advertising going. I am loath to do it but people just don't seem to want to support the site by going through it and clicking on the support links. Gits.
