Argh! Arrrrgh!

It's one of those mornings where you think things are going swell and... things take a turn for the annoying and drag on longer than you would have liked. I was called out to a window company in Scunthorpe to set up their network so that everyone could collect their emails without problems, and things were going fine until I realised that the machine that I though was the gateway... wasn't.

So how the hell were they all connecting? It turns out that the machine in accounts was also plugged into the ISDN box and was connecting independently of the main XP machine (the others were all 98SE), and that the others, being told to acquire an IP automatically, were all connecting through that.

So anyway, once I'd changed the IP of the accounts machine so that I could enable ICS on the Big New Dell (For so it was. Truly Dell are the new Borg.) I was able to get the machines all connecting through a single firewalled machine. Phew! now all they have to do is sort out some 0800 or broadband access and they'll be set.

I've been bad...

Well not bad, more lazy. I've only got a few days before the launch of the new Daily Play draw and my site isn't really anywhere near completed and compatible yet. I think I'm going to have to dedicate some serious hours to it tonight.

Well that went well!

Looks like the Lotto site is all finished, aside from testing out the various amendments I've made and wotnot. Number comparing seems to work without problem, and the email-sending routine as well, so it's all in place ready to go live on Monday. Eep! I'm frightened!
