Lowlife Scum

Well that's just great. After my car served admirably on a 450-mile run yesterday, some bastard has smashed the window and ripped out the CD player. Not only that, they'd tried to start it, wrecking the steering lock and ignition switch into the bargain, which means it can't be moved.
So today basically saw us phoning round. The police don't give a shit because there's too much car crime anyway. They've given us a number and basically told us to be on our way. I don't understand this - if the police do not investigate car crime, surely crooks will continue breaking into cars.
The insurance company is, of course, giving us the runaround. The car is supposed to be collected and a courtesy car given but the garage can't pick it up and the RAC apparently won't, so it's going to stay there all weekend. Great idea, guys! Leave my busted-window car out in the street for every frickin' low-life to see! I'm sure it'll be perfectly safe!
Hnnng.
