Bad thing come in threes, right?

Last night I decided to flash the BIOS on the Scumputer to try and get round the thing reading the CPU speed wrong on a cold boot. The file loaded and the writer software confirmed that, yes indeed, it was the right version for this mobo and that it was newer. Great! I pressed enter and the progress bar slowly went up from 0 to 99% and... *boink!* Error. Motherf*ckingkiwib*stard error! Apparently I hadn't disabled USB - wtf? There's nothing anywhere about disabling USB, and the board is now unusable. Argh!

That's one.

This morning I happened to browse through uk.adverts.computer and find a thread where people are talking about XBoxes they've bought from Insight for £30! THIRTY QUID?!? And of course, they've fixed the damned price and put it back on to about £200, but what really really p*sses me off is that they're honouring all orders. All of them. One bloke managed to snag over 300 of the bloody things, apparently, and I'd have ordered at least 25 if I'd known - sob! Oh well, I tipped off Mike Magee over at The Inquirer at least.

So what's going to happen next? I dare not set foot outside the front door now, for fear that I'll be hacked apart by some crazed machete-wielding maniac. Gah.
