Taxing Times

Just returned from the Inland Revenue - had to go there for advice because this year I had my first ever Employer's Annual Return to do, and also a personal Tax Assessment thingy, being Director of my company and that.

We went in feeling some trepidation because we actually assumed things would be more complicated that they in fact were, but it turns out we'd done pretty much everything right and we were out the door less than 20 minutes later.

In fact, thinking about it, we haven't had a single instance of difficulty when doing tax or PAYE stuff. It's a doddle!

The car's just been in for it's MOT. It failed on brakes, a headlight bulb and 'too much black smoke'. Bah.

Lotto Mail

I've been experimenting with HTML email this evening for my Lotto site and I think I've come up with something quite cool. Currently it's a plain text crapmail that I send out after every draw, but now it's going to he a lovely tabled CSS Style-fest instead.

I re-wrote the 'have you actually won anything?' part of the email sending routine and.. lo! It appears to work! Obviously much testing is required before I can unleash it on an unsuspecting public, but it's looking promising.

Right... bed. I have someone here at 9am for a presentation thing that we'll probably spend all day on, and I need to sleep. Sleeeeeep...
