W00ty T00t! Wireless!

I've finally got round to rejigging all the devices around my 'office' and the wireless router is now basically in the window at the back. This gives a huge boost to the signal available in the garden now, and I can pretty much enjoy a full speed, always-on connection wherever I am. Totally excellent!

A colleague of mine is investigating getting one of those new 17in Widescreen G4 Powerbooks which comes with (I believe) built-in 802.11b, so we could end up working from the garden at some point this summer. In the meantime, I've got to look into creating some form of presentation slideshow thing - I figure the easiest way to do this will be to hook my laptop up to a SVGA projector and use IrfanView to display a series of JPEG files. I'm sure he can manage 'Space' to go forward and 'Backspace' to go.. uh.. backwards.

Hell fire, the sun's bright today. Lots of flies, also.

He sits in the old plastic lawn chair, the worries of the world meaning nothing to him as he watches the bees in the sunlit garden go about their business. Occasionally a fly will alight on the small table besides him which bears his laptop, mobile phone and a glass of cool water. Feeling totally at peace, he eases himself out of the tatty slippers he is wearing and runs his bare feet through the warm grass. A brief check of the sky reveals no clouds, allowing this blissful state of affair to continue.

I admit it. I love my life :-)
